Reliable identification of normal pelvic anatomy and its variants, and the compartmental anatomy that underpins endometriosis mapping.

  • Pathology assessment

Recognising and characterising gynaecological pathology, with a focus on endometriosis.

  • Image interpretation

Building the judgement to read findings accurately and know when to look further.

About me

Choko Chan

Sonographer and clinical trainer

Honorary Professional Teaching Fellow, Anatomy and Medical Imaging, University of Auckland

I am an experienced sonographer and clinical trainer specialising in gynaecology and endometriosis ultrasound. I help sonographers and clinicians advance their scanning skills and build confidence in performing high-quality pelvic ultrasound examinations.

My training is practical and tailored to your experience level. I give constructive feedback throughout, so you develop accuracy, efficiency, and confidence in your everyday clinical practice, not just on the training day.

  • Practising sonographer based in Auckland, New Zealand
  • Clinical background across women's health imaging: high-risk obstetrics, maternal fetal medicine, fetal echocardiography, pelvic floor ultrasound, and endometriosis assessment
  • Personalised one-to-one and small-team teaching, grounded in real cases and real workflow

How a training day works

Every session is shaped around your caseload and your goals. A typical day moves through three phases.

  1. Plan around your list

We review your goals, your equipment, and the day's booked patients, then agree what to focus on.

  2. Scan together

Hands-on scanning with live guidance: technique, optimisation, and anatomy walked through case by case at the machine.

  3. Review and report

We go back over the images, discuss findings and pitfalls, and refine how you write them up.

Training that comes to you

You learn where you actually work, so everything you practise transfers directly into your clinic days.

Your equipment

Learn the presets, probes, and quirks of the machine you use every day.

Your patient workflow

Training fits around real appointments, so nothing about the day feels artificial.

Your whole team

Colleagues can join, observe, and learn together in the same session.

Common questions

Who is the training for?

Sonographers and clinicians at any stage: those newer to pelvic ultrasound who want a solid systematic method, and experienced scanners who want to extend into endometriosis assessment.

Do I need any particular equipment?

No. Training runs on your own ultrasound machine, whatever the make and model. Part of the value is learning to get the best images from the equipment you already have.

Can more than one person attend?

Yes. Sessions can be one-to-one or shared with colleagues from your team. We agree the format when you book, so everyone gets meaningful hands-on time.

How is a session structured?

Each visit is tailored, but a typical day combines planning around your booked list, supervised scanning with live feedback, and a review of images and reporting at the end.

How do I arrange a visit?

Book a time for a short call, or email a little about your team, your equipment, and what you want to improve. I will come back to you with options for dates and a suggested plan.

Ready to scan with more confidence?

Pick a time for a free chat about your team, your equipment, and what you would like to improve. A meeting invite lands in both our calendars automatically.
